CHALLENGES

Before switching to e-Emphasys, ASCO had been using the same legacy business system for 30 years. The system was rarely updated during that time period. With the limitations of this system, processes were much slower, and they were falling behind the industry and competitor in regard to their technology. Processes such as manual entry, entering things twice due to lack of system integrations, and general paperwork are time consuming in day-to-day operations, and just some of the limitations of the older system.

CEO, Brax Wright, explains that “IT plays a huge part in our industry today. Margins are squeezed in every profit center we have, so it is one of the main sources to be more efficient, more productive, more profitable.”

“Customers have come to expect everything immediately. Technology is the only way we will be able to provide things as fast as the customers’ expectations,” said John Wright, CIO.

SOLUTIONS

To meet evolving needs of the business, ASCO turned to e-Emphasys for their modern Digital Transformation Platform. In ASCO’s decision making process, it was important to have a platform that is constantly updated. e-Emphasys has over 240 developers constantly making updates to the platform, which provides the constant technology advancements ASCO was prioritizing. The ERP and BI reporting tools provided by e-Emphasys keep staff updated in real-time with important information about the business. e-Emphasys has also helped to streamline the flow of information between the Service technicians and the back office, shortening the time to invoice.

” Impacting our back-office team, they have made it easier to invoice,” said Stephen Wheeler, Service Manager. “It’s faster to invoice, instead of waiting 2 to 3 days to invoice we can do real-time invoicing. We can do it within 5 minutes of the tech completing the job. That is a great benefit with the eScheduler and eServiceTech apps.”

 

According to Chase Key, VP and Sales Manager, “I would recommend it to other dealers. They brought us up to the current times in terms of a program. The integration with CRM and the two working together, it saves our sales coordinator about 5 to 10 minutes per invoice compared to the way we used to do it. There’s a lot of efficiencies we’re starting to just now realize.”

CEO, Brax Wright, explains that “e-Emphasys’ ability to produce valid data reports so far exceeds our previous business system that so far it’s been a real addition to our company. A lot of the decisions made [before e-Emphasys] were made on some gut instinct, those decisions are still gut instinct, but we have support for them and proof we are making the right decision with e-Emphasys.” Real-time access to data reports has been a major addition to the company.

Business Analyst, Shelley O’Neal, explains that “ASCO Equipment has received benefits from using the ePortal system by allowing our customers to be more self-sufficient. They can reprint their own invoices which saves time on both sides, they can order parts, they can request service. So, we’ve both benefitted, ASCO Equipment and our customers.” The overall reduction in paperwork across the business has allowed Service Managers, Service Writers, and Warranty Writers to be more customer focused, benefiting ASCO and their customers.

With e-Emphasys, ASCO has set up integrations with OEM’s, saving them time. Because OEM data is already in the ERP, ASCO does not have to spend time updating or entering this data; it comes directly from the OEM through the system. O’Neal says “e-Emphasys has benefitted ASCO equipment with their business process, the interfaces between manufacturers and third parties; It’s increased our productivity.”
