e-Emphasys Implementation – Steadfast and Successful
Analyzing the continuation and success of implementation during COVID-19
When COVID-19 struck, the world stopped, and business stumbled. With employee and client safety at the forefront of company decisions, it is unsurprising that many ERP implementations came to a screeching halt, leaving both software companies and clients in a state of suspension and confusion.
On–site implementation has typically been the norm for ERP software providers, and method e-Emphasys was no exception. E-Emphasys’ proven StepFast methodology allows our implementation consultants to work with you side-by-side, giving them the ability to learn your unique business needs and provide specialized customer service. For our clients, it provides you with our undivided attention and un-interrupted attention to your project.
For many software companies, on-site implementation was no longer a viable option due to travel concerns, this meant many implementations were halted or postponed.
Fortunately for e-Emphasys and their customer base, the consulting team was able to provide a seamless transition to remote implementations. To help customers avoid delays and their subsequent costs, e-Emphasys worked diligently to offer clients in the process of implementation and those just beginning, the option to implement remotely. To date, they have completed multiple successful installations while working remotely.
How has e-Emphasys continued to provide seamless integration during a global pandemic? Let’s take a look at the experience of a leading agriculture and construction equipment dealer in the US.
Throughout the pandemic, e-Emphasys’ implementation teams have gone above and beyond in efforts to provide exceptional implementation services to our customers remotely. One large dealer operating in multiple states across the country can attest to this firsthand.
A project that was mid-implementation at the start of the global pandemic was a large agriculture and construction equipment dealer operating in multiple states throughout the US. They were already deep into the process with the e-Emphasys consulting team working on site. With employee safety being top priority, the e-Emphasys implementation consultants that were on location in addition to dealer’s project managers were all sent home to work remotely as their headquarters office and showrooms had to close.
In order to ensure progress, the dealership employees were provided with adequate equipment which allowed them to continue both their training and work responsibilities. Additionally, increased communication objectives were set up. Daily, virtual meetings became the norm and kept both team accountable to their project objectives.
Remote implementation not only checked all the boxes that a typical implementation would, but even brought additional benefits.
Cost savings were among one of the top benefits that this dealership experienced. With implementation now taking place remotely, many of the standard costs one would associate with software implementations, such as travel and lodging, were eliminated completely. In addition, the dealership experienced no drop in the level of support when switching to a remote set up.
Relatedly, having e-Emphasys consultants working on the project remotely did increase their work capacity. Instead of having Fridays as a travel day for consultants, they were available to work on the project Monday through Friday. Additionally, no travel means no travel delays. For locations with finicky weather like the North or Midwest, travel delays affecting consultant’s flights are a real possibility.
Due to COVID restrictions, training for employees was to be done remotely. Typically, when training occurs business operations are interrupted as employees are taken away from their posts. An upside to remote training expressed by Titan was the flexibility it provided. Some employees designate certain times of the day to accomplishing specific tasks. With an in-person implementation, employees are physically taken away from these tasks in order to attend training.
All in all, this company could delay or halt their ERP implementation, as many software vendors have been forced to do. However, due to the flexibility, dedication, and ingenuity of both the dealership’s and e-Emphasys’ employees, this dealership was able to go live successfully despite the restrictions of the pandemic.
They are just one of many that e-Emphasys has installed or is in the process of installing since the pandemic hit at the beginning of 2020.
